Our last Meeting of 2019 is at the Oasis Christian Centre on Monday 16th December beginning at 2.00 pm. (tea/coffee/biscuits/mince pies included)

At the meeting Graham Smith is giving a talk is called ‘The story of Christmas Traditions’ and we will be distributing our programme leaflet of speakers for our 2020 season with an overview of the different talks.

2019 Redditch Local History Society Exhibition, ‘My Redditch Memories’

The 2019 Redditch Local History Society Exhibition, ‘My Redditch Memories’, runs from 31st October to 24th November 2019 in the Gallery of the Forge Mill Needle Museum

This exhibition features the memories of Redditch residents past and present, many recently recorded and never displayed before. Where possible, these memories have been illustrated with documents and photographs from the society archives.

This exhibition looks at both the pre-New Town ‘old’ Redditch as well as people who came to Redditch with the New Town Development and gives a picture of life in the town over the past decades.

It charts the significant change in population, industry and housing and looks at how Redditch has continually re-created its own identity
